Children
Children’s Sunday School
Children’s Sunday School meets at 9:30am. Each Sunday, children ages 3 through 6th grade are invited to attend our age graded Sunday school classes.
When you arrive, visit our children’s welcome area to securely check in your child with our electronic system. All children through 6th grade must be checked out by an adult that has the check-in ticket.
Camp Wednesdays
During the school year (September-May), we have Camp Wednesdays, 6:00-7:00pm for kids. Children in Pre-K through 6th grade participate in a Camp PhisherKidz style rotation that features Music, Bible Study, Mission activities, Crafts and Recreation.
Childcare is provided for children under 3 during this time for adults who are participating in classes or choir.
Club56
Throughout the year, our 5th and 6th grade students (Club56) get together for various fun activities or service projects. These fun and meaningful activities give the children an idea of what to expect as they prepare to enter our youth fellowship.
Parent’s Night Out
Parent’s Night Out (PNO) is an evening of low-cost childcare offered to FBC members. PNO is the second Friday of each month, September through May and is hosted at First Baptist Church for children ages birth through 6th grade from 6:30pm-10:00pm. During Parent’s Night Out, your child will have dinner, be entertained and cared for while you enjoy an evening on your own. The reservation deadline is the Wednesday before the event at 5:00pm. To ensure adequate adult/child ratio the deadlines are strictly enforced. PNO is open to FBC members and families currently enrolled our MDO programs only. PNO is not a public event. For more information contact Meredith Hall, PNO Director at 512-757-7652 or E-mail
Baptisms
We believe that salvation is by grace through faith and that it is a free gift of God. Baptism is a way for a person to confess before the church family that they have invited Jesus to be the Lord of their life. If you believe your child is ready to make a profession of faith through baptism, contact our Children’s Minister, Melinda Hall, to make those arrangements. A Minister will speak with your child about the nature and purpose of baptism to be sure they are confidently ready to make this step.
Fall Festival
Rain or shine on October 31st, we host our annual Fall Festival from 5:30-8:00pm. This is one of our largest community events that includes carnival games, prizes, free snacks and a trunk-or-treat. Grab your family, dress in your best family-friendly costume and come for some family fun on October 31st!
Special Events
In addition to the above, our children’s ministry strives to provide fun family events as well as events that help children to grow in their faith. We are always thinking of new and innovative ways to teach your children about Jesus, to build community in fun ways, to get them involved in service, and to support your family as a whole. Check out our calendar for upcoming special events that may include:
- Easter Fellowship Fun
- 1st/2nd Grade lock-in
- Family Field Day
- Blessing of the Backpacks
